Get silly with a plunger relay race, this hilarious and challenging active game for kids. Get out the plungers and the scooters and race to the finish!
Supplies
- Gym Scooter 1 per team
- 2 plungers per team (amazon has plungers for under $8 – you will want clean ones!)
- Cones
Set Up
Split kids into teams of 5-6. Prepare your gym space by setting one cone per team along one end of the gym. Set another cone parallel to that cone into center of the gym.
How to hold a Plunger Relay Race
Teams will elect one player to be the first plunger. The first participant for each team will take a scooter and two plungers to the first cone. S/he will kneel or sit on the scooter and take a plunger in each hand, making sure to stay behind the cone.
On go the players on the scooters will pull their way down and around the middle cone using only the plungers to pull them forward. They will travel around the center cone and back to the original cone.
If a player falls off the scooter, uses his/her hands or feet to move forward they must return to the start cone and start again.
When the first player moves past the start cone, the next player on the team will take the scooter and the plungers and repeat until every member of the team has scooted down and around the center cone and back using only the plungers to propel them forward.
