How to make a Bath Bomb

To start place your bowl in the center of your work area. Using a kitchen scale measure and add together the corn starch, baking soda, epsom salt, and citric acid. Stir to dry ingredients until they are well mixed.

Then mix together the vegetable oil, water and essential oils. I found a set of essential oils on Amazon that I really enjoy, or you can find them at any big box store. When the wet ingredients are added together whisk until they are mixed well.

Slowly mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients one tsp at a time.  If the mixture begins to fizz slow down. Once all of the liquid is added to the dry mixture whisk together until the texture is smooth and similar to damp sand.

Next, quickly take the mixture and press it into the mold. The texture of the mixture will allow you to manipulate it without it completely falling apart. I used a Walton candy mold to make our bath bombs, but they do make silicone molds specifically for making bath bombs. Click here to see an example on Amazon.

Once the mixture is in the mold allow it to harden for 12-24 hrs. Then, package as desired or just drop it in the bath and watch it fizz!
