One old man and a bunch of invaders, can the old man capture all the intruders? This tag game takes an element of strategy and teamwork.

Supplies & Set Up for Old Man’s Island

You will need a large play area with a circle in the middle of the space.  If you are playing in a gym, the center circle will work. If you are playing outdoors, take some chalk and draw a circle in the middle of the play area.

How to play Old Man’s Island

• Select one person to be the old man.  His/Her job is to protect the “island”, the center circle.  
• To start the game, the old man will yell, “stay off my island!”  Everyone else must run from one end of the play space to the other, put one foot or hand into the circle and make it to the other end of the play space without being tagged by the “old man”
• If a player gets tagged by the old man, they are now a tagger, they will help the old man tag the others.  The game is over when only a few people remain.
