Paper Ball Fight; A Fun Get to Know you Game

Have a paper ball fight!  This fun and engaging game will have kids excited to share facts about themselves and learn about others.

This game is fun, engaging and will allow children get share fun facts about themselves while learning about other kids they will be interacting with regularly.  This game is perfect for classrooms, after school programs and summer camps!

Paper Ball Fight Preparation

Develop a list of get to know you questions.  You will need at least one per child in your classroom or group, but the more the better. Check out the sample “get to know you questions” below to get you started.  Write each question on its own piece of paper, then crumpled into a tight ball.
Split children into two groups.  Assign each group half of the room. 

How to have a Get to Know you Paper Ball Fight

Have a paper ball fight!  This fun and engaging game will have kids excited to share facts about themselves and learn about others.

Line up the crumpled get to know you question balls in the center of the playing area. On go children will take a crumpled paper ball and throw it to the other side of the room. The object of the game is to have less paper balls on your side when time is up.  Children will continue to pick up balls and throw them until time is up. (30 seconds – 1 minute is a good amount of time)

Once time is up, ask kids to pick up the paper ball closest to them.  Go around the room and have each child uncrumple their ball and read the question.  Have them respond to the question.  Once everyone has read and answered questions start the game again. Have the children throw the balls across the room until time is up then have them pick up the get to know you question ball closest to them, read it and answer the question.  Game play can continue until kids lose interest or a time limit is reached.

  • What’s your favorite food?
  • If you wrote a book, what would you name the main character and where would he go?
  • What is your favorite school subject? and why?
  • What was the best part of your summer?
  • What are you most excited for right now?
  • If they made a movie about your life what would it be called?
  • Tell us a joke.
  • What is the funnies thing you have ever seen?
  • What is your favorite thing to do?
  • If you could go anywhere where would you go?
  • What do you do well? and What do you wish you were better at?
  • If you could do something like your Dad/Mom do, what would you want to be able to do?
  • What are you proudest of in your life?
  • If you could wake up tomorrow with a superpower, what superpower would you want to have?
  • If you could change anything about school what would it be?
  • Tell us about your family.
  • If you could change anything in the world, what would it be?
  • If you could have any 3 wishes granted, what would they be?
  • Where is your favorite place to be?
  • If all your clothes could only be one color, what color would you choose?
  • If you could change the lunch menu at school what would you change?
  • Who is your favorite superhero? and why?
  • If you could change your name, would you want to and what name would you choose instead?
