Snowman Bowling is an easy craft game for kids uses simple supplies to create a game kids can play indoors on a cold winter day. Create snowmen from milk bottles and create your own indoor bowling game.
Supplies
- 6+ empty milk bottles (one for each kid)
- Sharpies
- Ball
Create the snowman bowling pins
To create your snowmen, start by drinking the milk, or pour the milk into a container to be consumed later. Next, wash the containers. I can not stress this enough, I let the kids “wash” the bottles and they stunk like sour milk after a few days. So, make sure you wash them thoroughly.
After you wash the bottles put out the sharpies. You will want to use sharpies, or other permanent markers. Regular markers will just rub off and make a mess. Have kids draw snowmen on the bottles. Remind them about the eyes, nose, mouth, arms, scarf and whatever other items their snowmen may feature.
How to play snowman bowling
After Everyone has perfected their snowman place them in a 6 snowman triangle. With one snowman in the front, 2 behind it, and three in the back row. Place the snowmen so they are touching. Next, count out 6-10 big steps from the front snowman and put a marker on the ground.
Select a player to go first. Have them roll the ball towards the snowman. The number of snowmen that fall down is the number of points they get for the round. You can allow the player to roll again, or just set up the snowmen and let the next player try.
Kids will come up with fun variations on the rules, so they only need loose guidelines to start the game. Challenge them to knock all the snowmen down in one roll of the ball. See if you can knock over just the front snowman. How about a 7-10 split challenge? This game will provide kids with an indoor game that will keep them engaged and having fun.
