Animal track Memory is a fun twist on the traditional memory game.  This game takes animal tracks and asks kids to pair the track with the matching animal.  Use this printable PDF to create your own game.

Preparation for Animal track Memory

Print the Animal track Memory PDF.  I recommend printing the animal track cards onto cardstock for durability and so that you can not see through the paper. If you use printer paper you may need to attach the cards to construction paper to make sure no one can see through the card. Once you have printed the document place the reference sheets to the side and cut out the cards.

Introduction and Discussion

Ask kids what animal tracks they think they can Identify. Ask them to think about places they may have witnessed animal tracks.  Places like parks, forests, snow, etc. They will say they have seen dog, bird and raccoons, or whatever animals are around your area.

Show them the cards and ask them to identify the tracks. If they are struggling let them look at the reference sheet. Once kids have an understanding of different animal tracks you are ready to play.

How to Play Animal Track Memory

Animal track memory can be played with 2-4 players. To set up the game, place all the cards upside down in a playing area.  Then, the first player turns over one card, then another, so that they have two cards turned up. The players objective is to match the animal with the animal track.

If a player correctly matches two cards, that player gets to go again until they turn up two cards that do not match.  When a player turns over two non-matching cards their turn is over and the next person tries to match the animal track card with the correct animal card. When all of the cards have been matched, the player with the most matches is declared the winner.
